so apparently I have high blood pressure. probably cuz I'M A FATASS.

I get to check it at least once a week for the next 4 weeks and then either let it wait til I see the dr next or make an appt for before then. awesome.

anyway, on a crash diet now.

and my diet is making me the most boring person ever.

400 calories a day will do that to you. 15 more lbs and then I'm having a burrito and joining weight watchers.

Advice?

Hi there. I'm not sure if anybody is active in this community anymore, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway since I'm bitin' my nails.

I'm taking the GRE Lit. Test tomorrow! How fun. I started studying about a month ago, but DRASTICALLY underestimated how much there was to learn for this test. I studied abroad for two out of my three and a half years spent in college, and during the year I spent in Japan, I read -- you guessed it -- nothing but Asian lit. So I am already kind of at a disadvantage, but I'm doing my best to (speedily) read up on all the major canon.

I have an overall GPA of 3.7, with a 3.9 in my major (English). I got a 670 on the verbal part of the general GRE, and a 6 on the writing (520 in math, I believe). So far, on the practice subject tests, I've unfortunately been getting scores in the low 500's.

I am planning to apply to 12 schools in all, ranging from a few in the top 10 all the way down to #60 or so. Obviously I don't want to shoot TOO low, but I am now getting concerned that I might do well to modify my list based on my predicted crummy subject test score. Not all the schools I'm applying to require it, but many do.

Advice?

This week's questions were suggested by [info]drgilesstuart.

1) Which one is more irritating- being too hot or being too cold?
2) Were you born in the winter or the summer?
3) What are your favourite foods to eat when you need to warm up and cool down?
4) Which one are you more likely to suffer from- hayfever or flu- and does it run in your family?
5) You are granted a day of perfect weather whenever you like. What day do you place it on and why?
